Web dashboard

Understand the Givebear dashboard: how its areas map to fundraising, money, people, events, kiosks, and admin work.

The dashboard is the private workspace where your staff and admins run Givebear. It is where you set up giving, watch the money, work with your people, run events and kiosks, and manage who can do what.

This page explains how the dashboard is organized. Each area below has its own guide that goes deeper. Start with the area that matches the question you have right now.

How the dashboard is organized

Every page lives under one organization. The sidebar groups your work into a few areas, and each area maps to a guide above. Here is what each group is for.

Home

Home is your starting view for one organization. It surfaces recent activity and the setup checklist while you are still getting ready to go live. New here? Start with getting started.

Raise money

This is where giving is built and watched.

  • Fundraising holds your funds and campaigns. A fund is a destination donors give to, such as a general fund or a building fund. A campaign is a time-bound or story-led appeal. See the fundraising guide.
  • Donations lists individual transactions, recurring gifts, and the website donation button. For the financial side of those payments, see donations and finance.

To put giving on your own website, pair these with donation widgets.

Engage people

This is where you build relationships, not just collect gifts.

  • People CRM keeps a contact record for each person, plus tasks, lists, activity, and email campaigns. See people and outreach and segments. With texting enabled it also holds Messages and Text campaigns; see text messaging.
  • Events lets you publish events, sell tickets, take registrations, and check people in. See events and community and the dedicated events guides.
  • Membership is an optional module for tiers, member records, and check-in. Turn it on from add-ons.

Operations

This is the day-to-day running of money and devices.

Organization

This is admin work, and most of it is limited to owners and admins.

  • Settings covers your organization profile and configuration, including a custom domain, the QuickBooks sync, and texting.
  • Team invites members and assigns roles.
  • Billing manages your plan.
  • Developers is admin-only and covers API keys and connected apps. See the developer docs.

See settings, roles, and billing for the full walkthrough.

Your own sign-in (password, passkeys, two-factor authentication, and signed-in devices) lives outside any organization, under Account Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. See secure your account.

Roles decide who sees what

What a teammate can open in the dashboard depends on their role. Givebear ships three built-in roles:

  • Owner has full control, including deleting the organization.
  • Admin can manage almost everything except ownership-level actions.
  • Member is a read-only baseline that can view but not change.

Admins can also build custom roles by toggling individual permissions, starting from presets like Financial Manager or Event Manager. The sidebar hides any area a person cannot view, so two teammates may see different menus. For details, see settings, roles, and billing.

Some areas only appear after you enable the matching add-on. If a menu item is missing, check your add-ons and your role.

Where money and fees fit

Donations are processed through your connected payout account, which you set up during onboarding. Givebear charges a plan-based platform fee, and the payment processor adds its own pass-through cost. Fees depend on your plan, so see pricing for current rates and donations and finance for how each payment is recorded.
