This is the ticket price before payment processing. Many fundraisers raise far more from the room than from tickets, so consider a live ask, a tap-to-pay kiosk at the event, and sponsorships alongside the ticket price.

Selling tickets and collecting at the event?

Givebear handles event registration and ticketing, and a tap-to-pay kiosk takes gifts at the door, the live ask, and the exit, all in one donor record. Built for fundraising events.

How this is calculated

Two divisions, both before card processing.

Break-even priceequalsevent cost ÷ attendees

Goal priceequals(event cost + fundraising goal) ÷ attendees

  • Attendees means paid tickets you expect to sell; the calculator never divides by fewer than one.
  • Card processing is not included. Add a small amount to the ticket to cover it, or let attendees cover the fee at checkout.

Event pricing questions

How do you price tickets for a fundraising event?
Start by adding up your total event costs, then decide how much you want to raise above those costs from ticket sales. Add the two together and divide by the number of tickets you expect to sell. That gives a ticket price that covers expenses and contributes to your goal. Many fundraisers also price tickets at or near break-even and raise the rest through a live ask, sponsorships, and on-site giving.
Should I price tickets to cover all my fundraising in one go?
Usually not. If the ticket price has to carry the entire fundraising goal, it can climb high enough to suppress attendance. A common approach is to price tickets to cover costs plus a modest margin, then raise the bulk of the goal in the room through a paddle raise, sponsorships, and a tap-to-pay kiosk for spontaneous gifts.
Do I need to add processing fees to the ticket price?
This calculator gives the ticket price before payment processing. Card processing applies on top, so some organizations add a small amount to the ticket price to cover it, while others absorb it. If you let attendees cover the fee at checkout, you keep the full ticket price.
