Amounts work best when they bracket your average gift, with an "Other" option for everyone else. Revisit them as your average changes.

How this is calculated

Each button is your average gift times a multiplier, rounded to a clean number so donors see $25 rather than $23.

Button amountsequalsaverage gift × 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16

  • Amounts under $100 round to the nearest $5 (never below $5), under $500 to $25, under $2,000 to $50, and above that to $100.
  • The set uses the first three to six multipliers, so your average is always the second button.
  • Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is saved unless you email yourself the result.

Suggested amount questions

What are good suggested donation amounts?
Good suggested amounts bracket your average gift rather than starting from a generic $10. If your average online gift is $50, a strong set might be $25, $50, $100, and $200, plus an 'other' field. Anchoring the buttons around what your donors actually give nudges the average up without pushing anyone away.
How many donation amount buttons should I show?
Three to five preset amounts plus an 'other' option is the common sweet spot. Too few buttons leaves money on the table; too many creates decision fatigue on a small screen. This tool lets you generate three to six and copy the set into your donation form or kiosk.
Should the suggested amounts be the same online and in person?
They can differ. In-person kiosk donors often give a bit more impulsively, so some organizations set slightly higher presets on the lobby kiosk than on the website. With Givebear you can set suggested amounts on both the kiosk and the embeddable form, so you can tune each surface.
